About the Summer Internship Program 

Adams Street’s Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship that provides an engaging and highly educational experience to undergraduates seeking to build a career in private markets investing. Our Summer Analysts gain a broad range of investment exposure by providing research, analytical and deal process support to our teams. The program is designed for rising juniors and seniors who are pursuing their bachelor’s degree, ideally in business, finance or economics looking to gain a foundational understanding of the private markets industry. The firm is highly committed to the Summer Analyst Program as it is the primary pipeline for incoming full-time Analysts across the investment teams. As such, the internship program offers a unique set of financial training, professional development, and mentorship opportunities throughout the Summer.

• Participation in cross-firm training sessions designed to offer visibility on the activities of different teams
• Access to internal training resources and the guidance of a mentor to bridge the educational gap
• Exposure to deal flow, strategy and operations as an observer in investment team meetings

About the Primary Investment Team

The Primary Investment Team at Adams Street invests in premier buyout and venture capital funds at the time they are being raised. The team has been an active fund investor since 1979 and has established relationships with some of the world’s most sought-after General Partners. Investing with a broad global mandate and across a range of geographies, stages, and subclasses, the Primary Team has consistently delivered strong risk-adjusted returns and liquidity across multiple business and economic cycles.

Key Candidate Attributes

At Adams Street, we hold ourselves to high standards and expect the same of our internship applicants. Ideal candidates must have a genuine interest in alternative investments. Additional characteristics of a successful Summer Analyst at our firm are:

• Strong academic credentials with a major in finance, accounting, economics, or related studies
• History of relevant internship experience, schoolwork, and/or extracurricular activities within the private equity, investment banking, investment management, and valuation fields
• Strong excel proficiency required, with prior financial modeling experience preferred
• Demonstrable initiative, commitment toward excellence in work and great attention-to-detail
• Team-oriented mindset with a heavy emphasis on written and verbal communication
• Excellent technical foundations in corporate finance and accounting
• Self-disciplined with a positive attitude, high integrity, accountability, and leadership acumen

 

Compensation: $40/hour
