About the role

Enoch Pratt Free Library is seeking to hire a part-time Program Coordinator who will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of The Office of Equity and Fair Practices programs. The Coordinator works with community-based providers and economically disadvantaged community members to assess their specific needs and implement service provision enhancements, as appropriate. The Coordinator will work in maintaining a strong relationship between OEFP and stakeholders.  This role is critical in Pratt’s work to redefine the lives of individuals who have been historically underserved and overburdened  and promote a more culturally and geographically appropriate approach to engagement and empowerment. This position requires strong alignment with Pratt's mission, values, and strategic vision, as well as demonstrated success, sound judgment, and flexibility working in a complex, fast-paced environment.

 

Department: Office of Equity and Fair Practices

Starting Salary: $20.90/hr.

Job Type: Part-Time, this position will require you to work on-site at different branches, times, and/or locations throughout the state. 

Key Responsibilities:

The Program Coordinator will assist with three main areas of performance in the Office of Equity and Fair Practices for Enoch Pratt Free Library and Maryland State Library Resource Center: (1) Program/Project Planning & Management; (2) Community Engagement & Collaboration; and (3) Research, Writing, and Analysis.

  • The Program Coordinator works with the OEFP team to creatively develop and ensure the successful implementation of projects, programs, activities, and grant specifications.

  • Stay updated on legal and social developments relevant to equity and diversity, ensuring policy compliance and relevance.

  • Communicates, plans, and collaborates with department personnel and community members to ensure that the agency culture and services reflect Pratt's commitment to diversity, equity, equality, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-racism.

  • Required to research, write, and submit grant applications as well as other documents - including business correspondences and comprehensive reports that reflect research and data analysis.

  • Administrative management of contracts and grant agreements with service providers and partner organizations.

  • Plans and coordinates assigned projects, operations, or programs in a timely, effective manner.

  • Develops and ensures the success of program/project objectives and goals. 

  • Organizes activities and people to ensure compliance with Pratt's Strategic Plan, grant specifications, agency policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws, and other contractual agreements.

  • Helps identify and meet measurable program and project outcomes using various analytical methods and routinely conducts program and project outcome assessments. 

  • Identify strengths and deficiencies and develop a professional development plan with assigned staff.

  • Coordinates and works with colleagues, personnel, community partners, and other stakeholders toward successfully achieving program/project objectives, goals, and measurable outcomes.

  • Assists with general office duties.

  • Leads monthly meetings and attends conferences as required.

  • Maintains client records and prepares monthly reports as required. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.

  • Experience with coordinating and managing programs.

  • Experience with grant writing.

  • Experience with office software applications to prepare reports, particularly Google office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of community relations, principles, and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in urban communities with program planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Demonstrates experience with clearly and successfully communicating ideas, providing clear direction, and listening effectively.

  • Experience with local, state, and federal laws pertaining to returning citizens.
