Position: Senior Business Analyst

The Team:

The Hiscox USA Change team creates innovative solutions to improve the customer experience and drive digital growth. We are on a journey to optimize our digital platforms while transitioning to an agile, value-stream based delivery model.

About You:

You’ll be an experienced Business Analyst who is business savvy and collaborative, someone who enjoys working with Business Sponsors, Product Owners, Architects, Technical BA & Engineers and other stakeholders to plan and execute analysis activities to deliver valuable outcomes for the business.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of project and value stream outcomes in our US Change portfolio, giving you broad exposure to how the US business operates, from the front line through to the back-office functions and the technology that supports our ability to deliver superb service to our customers. 

Our projects can be driven by process improvement, integration of new ventures and delivery of regulatory requirements. The outputs of the projects can vary from large scale system delivery and upgrades to smaller, tactical solutions that open up business opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

• Build a strong understanding of end-to-end user journeys & processes, their supporting technologies

• Accurately and efficiently elicit, challenge, and document scope, processes & requirements while bringing the end user/s along the change journey

• Produce high quality business and technical analysis deliverables, including but not limited to, user stories, functional and non-functional specifications, ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process models

• Ensure traceability of requirements and user stories throughout the entire change lifecycle

• Apply BA best practice and insights that challenge the business to think about the “right” solution

• Build relationships and trust with senior stakeholders, understanding goals, objectives and desired outcomes, and bringing them on the journey of engagement

• Maintain a close working relationship with partners in Operations, Technology, and the business.

• Implement continual improvements to ensure that we are constantly evolving how we do Business Analysis

Our Must Haves:

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating as a Business Analyst

• Proven experience of eliciting requirements, documenting and delivering high quality business analysis deliverables

• Expertise in conceptual modelling; ability to see the big picture and envision possible solutions

• Ability to facilitate a team to consensus on scope, design decisions, and implementation decisions

• Knowledge of SQL and data analysis

• Ability to ask strong questions to help the team see areas that may lead to problems

• Experience of translating business requirements into technical design, supported by development teams

• Experience using Business Analysis tools, techniques and methodologies in a mix of delivery frameworks – including Agile

• Experience working with cross-functional agile teams and making prioritization and roadmap recommendations

• Ability to build strong working relationships across the business, technology and third-party software houses and/or technology providers

• Outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills

• Evidence of applying “soft” influencing, persuasion and consultancy skills that will influence scope & design, helping to ensure the project outcomes move the business forward towards the strategic ambition
