What does a successful Senior Engineer - DeviceOS and Platform Services do at Fiserv?

Join the Device OS and Platform Services team and help build the foundation for Clover’s cloud-based point-of-sale terminals. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping our vision and delivering high-quality solutions that power seamless transactions for businesses worldwide. If you're passionate about technology and thrive in a fast-moving environment, we want you on our team!

What you will do:

• Design and build RESTful services that power Clover’s cloud-based point-of-sale terminals, handling updates, telemetry, and release management.
• Turn product requirements into functional, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
• Investigate issues, coordinate responses, and implement fixes to keep our services running smoothly.
• Share knowledge and best practices with the team to continuously improve our platform.
• Drive our transformation from a monolithic architecture to a microservices-based system.
• Own services from development through deployment, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support our platform and keep merchants up and running.

What you will need to have:

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of proven server-side development in Java or JVM-based language with use of databases.
• Experience in back-end server development, database, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with web service frameworks, such as Spring Boot, service mesh helpers, such as Istio, and microservice development environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based service hosting solutions, such as Kubernetes, and related technologies.
• Experience in mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• General understanding of security protocols, encryption/decryption technologies, PKI, certificates management.
• Experience with containers, such as Docker, build/CI systems, such as Jenkins, and source control, such as Git.

Salary Range

$108,900.00 - $186,800.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
