**Sign-On-Bonus $1000.00**
This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
What you will do:
- Maintain, replace, and diagnose all instrument/electrical components in and around the Nutrien Chemical Processing and Mining area
- Monitor equipment systems to ensure components are fully operational and working to optimal capacity
- Oversee and direct the support personnel’s daily activities, manage PSM reporting, conducting periodic inspections, maintain, and operate equipment and systems in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for the purpose of processing the highest quality products
- Troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, operate, and perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, digital, mechanical devices and control systems
- Act to prevent or avoid production losses and secure a safe work environment
- Direct, coordinate and utilize the abilities and skills of other persons in the trade group, other assisting trade groups, trainees, and helpers to maintain all instrumentation and electrical equipment to a high level of reliability at minimum cost
What you will bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent Preferred
- Relevant vocational training and/or successful completion of apprenticeship as an Electrician
- Proven experience as an Electrician in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (i.e., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations/guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) testing is required for all hourly applicants of Nutrien-Aurora and must be uploaded along with your resume during the application process to be considered for employment with Nutrien-Aurora
- Applicants must complete this test and meet a minimum of 4 in Graphic Literacy, 5 on Applied Mathematics and 5 on Workplace Documents in order to be considered eligible for employment with Nutrien
- Ability to work well with others on-the-job by displaying a good attitude and leadership skills
- Systematic procedural discipline, following a pre-determined course of action for doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and developing a team atmosphere to get things done
- High initiative and willingness to take on responsibilities, and challenges without being asked
- Adaptability, flexibility, and open to change in a varying work environment as is common in an Instrument/Electrical Maintenance Department
- May be required to be clean shaven for safety reasons
- May be required to work at high elevations, confined spaces, in open spaces such as platforms, and/or catwalks
- Must be able to wear required, company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)--i.e., uniforms, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, emergency breathing apparatus
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting rate $29.50-45.00 per hour (plus available overtime).
Nutrien offers a skills-based pay compensation program. Hourly rates can progresses based on On-Job-Training, formal learning, and observation of new skills. Hourly rates can progress from starting rate of $29.50 to $45.00 per hour over a specified time period.
