COMPANY PROFILE:

AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves and supports approximately 2,600 member/borrowers in areas of lending, insurance sales, appraisal, and/or leasing. Eleven office locations can be found throughout the Association's 43-county trade territory, and the association has an average loan volume of approximately $2.85 billion, with total assets equaling $3.2 billion. The lending portfolio consists of cotton, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate, and ag-related business loans. Additionally, the association territory provides diversity in production and mortgage loans as well as commodities financed. Without strong financial backing farmers and ranchers will not survive, and people will not have food to eat or clothes to wear. AgTexas provides reliable credit and crop insurance to our member-owners, so they can feed and clothe the world.


POSITION:

The Relationship Manager IV - Agribusiness position is located in any AgTexas office, or remote and within 150 miles of an AgTexas office location, with a salary that is negotiable, depending upon experience.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience and at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible banking or agricultural lending experience involving credit extension, including the marketing, credit underwriting, administration and analysis of commercial credits and agribusiness loans. Ideal candidate will exhibit a specialized knowledge of accounting/financial systems, in addition to accounting/finance principles. This position requires good skill in oral and written communication. Must be intermediate in skill level with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform intermediate to advanced-level accounting/financial analyses under limited supervision.


JOB SCOPE AND PURPOSE:

Processes and services large and/or complex commercial loans, including proceeds, content, acceptance, evaluation and release of collateral, and the maintenance of proper accounting records and controls. Counsels loan officers on proper commercial loan procedures and on particular loans for which the collateral will be of an unusual nature. Conducts regular evaluations of the commercial loan portfolio as it relates to composition, liquidity, and credit quality as well as compliance with all applicable lending policies and regulations. Has considerable latitude for decision making.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Processes and services large and/or complex commercial loans. Conducts complex credit analyses including those that involve multi-entity transactions with accrual accounting systems. Analyzes balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows of potential borrowers to ascertain creditworthiness.
  • Makes credit presentations to senior management and the loan committee with recommendations for approval or denial of loan requests.
  • Performs credit administration, monitoring, and due diligence review of various financial participation packages and loan originations with district associations or commercial agency lenders.
  • Ensures that all assigned loans are properly risk rated, assigned loss given defaults are correct and performance status assignments are proper.
  • Complies with proper credit administration practices as outlined in the association's policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for developing new business in rapidly growing markets in addition to servicing existing agribusiness, commercial and real estate customers. Establishes business relationships with agricultural producers, agribusinesses, rural land owners, and business leaders in the community and cultivates these relationships to expand lending opportunities.
  • Makes and services loans within delegated authority and in accordance with association policies. Makes and/or conveys decisions on loan approval, structure and pricing. Responsible for exercising credit risk management responsibilities on loans within area of responsibility.
  • Performs loan servicing responsibilities and assists with monitoring and reporting portfolio conditions. Assists in training less-senior loan officers and credit personnel to ensure quality loan services and attainment of the Association's credit goals.
