Your journey starts now—protect and innovate with MANTECH!MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to support our contract under Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) out of Quantico, VA.
ManTech is responsible for assisting our Government customer and ensuring that material solutions developed or acquired by MCSC are system engineered, integrated, interoperable, and certified to provide the warfighter with equipment required to accomplish their mission.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Focus on Tech Publications (TMs, SIs, TI, etc.).
Using established document and brief formats, assists determining document needs of end
users.Provides grammar, style, and formatting recommendations to documents and brief drafts
provided for review.Provides first draft creation for pre-formatted documents and briefs using technical
information provided by Subject-Matter-Experts.Works with graphics personnel to assist with professional integration of photographs,
drawings, diagrams, and charts of documents and briefs.Captures and distributes meeting minutes to ensure broad understanding and transparency
of information relevant to PdM Mission Support Systems employees and to support future
decision making and resource planning for Command-level initiatives.Development of MIL-STD-40051 compliant technical manuals for Army test equipment.
Development and maintenance of stylesheet for MIL-STD-38784 technical manuals for USMC
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (+5 years’ experience), Associate’s Degree (+7 years’ experience), or High School Diploma (+12 years’ experience).
Five (5) years in relevant technical field which required significant writing/editing of technical documentation, procedures and guidelines relevant to Information Technology (IT) systems or equipment.
Familiar with technical manuals and have a logistics background
Familiar with MILSTD 40051, MILSTD 38784, and formatting using XML to include Style Sheets and DTD.
Proficiency with Arbortext, FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, and/or Adobe Pro
