Pratt & Whitney is seeking a successful candidate for a Second Shift Supervisor/MRP Controller role within the Product Delivery Center in Middletown CT.
The Supervisor, MRP Controller - 2nd Shift will operate in multiple shop floor control and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) related systems to ensure alignment between material position and production schedule while managing a team of hourly employees.
What You Will Do:
Coordinate material kitting in support of assembly floor need, working closely with the on-campus Forward Stocking Location (FSL) and remote warehouses.
Support shortage management process and oversee materials/logistics issues while coordinating with Engine and Module Assembly to ensure parts are available when needed.
Participate in making allocation/priority decisions on critical hardware.
Utilize/operate Andon system in support of assembly floor requirements.
Providing direction to skilled PDC bargaining unit employees while leading sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction through the system’s various elements.
Perform daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication, and execution with support group members including management of hourly employee attendance and approval of timecards.
Establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability and other priorities.
Provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes.
This role will work closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and quality to ensure assembly and test requirements are fully supported.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, process improvement or similar environment OR a Master's Degree and minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, process improvement or similar environment
In absence of a degree, 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, process improvement or similar environment
Demonstrated proficiency in leadership skills, communication, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Knowledge of logistics, operations, inventory management, and/or supply chain
Proven ability to motivate teams to obtain high levels of performance to accomplish goals
Experience supporting process improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Proficient with Microsoft office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with Enterprise Planning Resource (ERP) and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software. SAP highly preferred
Continuous Improvement problem solving background.
Degree in Business/Supply Chain/Engineering or related field
Project management and operations experience
