About the role

As the Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of all commercial vehicles, drivers, and related assets, including their operations, conditions, external and internal policy compliance, and overall performance.

Fleet managers ensure that vehicles and drivers are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner.

 

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and assign shifts and establishes work priorities; develops and implements programs of preventive maintenance; manages and analyzes operation and maintenance costs for all Company equipment.
  • Determines requirements for spare parts, supplies, and materials inventory; assists in preparation of specifications for equipment.
  • Makes budget requests, maintains fleet maintenance budget and monitors budget expenditures.
  • Researches catalogues, checks prices, orders and makes direct purchases of equipment, parts and fuel; makes work assignments, sets priority for trains and reviews the work of fleet maintenance personnel; conducts performance evaluations; recommends hiring and discipline of subordinate employees.
  • Establishes standards of performance for each position supervised; conducts staff and safety meetings; instructs assigned staff in work methods; checks and corrects work in progress; reports to supervision problems encountered.
  • Provides supervision and assistance in the repair and maintenance of shuttle buses
  • Observes and enforces safety regulations; prepares reports on equipment utilization and status of projects; attends meeting and training sessions; approves the purchase of supplies and parts.
  • Procure vehicles, whether through lease, purchase, or other means, according to company requirements
  • Register, obtain licenses, and insure the company’s vehicles
  • Oversee and schedule vehicle inspection, maintenance, and servicing to minimize downtime
  • Maintain all vehicle information and inspection records
  • Secure the fleet’s compliance with applicable regulations
  • Operates company vehicles and performs related work as required.
  • Analyze fleet performance data and improve accordingly
  • Report fleet performance and finances to upper management

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate; associate degree or vocational certification (preferred)
  • Valid Driver License
  • Technical knowledge in trucking, logistics, or mechanic experience
  • Organizational and management skills

 

Pay:  $80K to $85K

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
