The Belridge Maintenance team is seeking to fill a Pipeline Specialist position. This position will report to Taft, CA.

The Pipeline Specialist supports safe, compliant, and reliable operations of the Taft Area Pipeline System while serving as a technical resource to pipeline operations personnel. This role performs advanced operational, measurement, and compliance activities and assists the Pipeline Operations Supervisor in coordinating daily pipeline operations, preventive maintenance, regulatory documentation, and damage prevention efforts. The Pipeline Specialist provides field leadership during operational activities and may act as a lead operator when assigned.

The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $114K - $135K, with a target annual bonus of 15% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Actual salary will be determined based on individual pay factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Responsibilities: 

  • Operate and monitor pumps, tanks, valves, pipelines, and truck rack systems to support crude movements.
  • Coordinate operational activities with pipeline controllers, carriers, and field personnel to ensure safe and accurate product transfers.
  • Perform advanced measurement activities including API BS&W and gravity testing, tank strapping, LACT proving witness, oil sampling, and month-end measurement reporting.
  • Conduct routine inspections of pipelines, tanks, and facilities to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Assist in investigating gain/loss discrepancies and support custody transfer accuracy.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and assist with work planning and scheduling.
  • Complete and maintain regulatory and compliance documentation including GPL forms, AIR reports, and aerial reporting.
  • Review and manage One Call tickets, perform pipeline locating and marking, and coordinate with third-party excavators and Right-of-Way personnel.
  • Support audit readiness for DOT, HSE, and regulatory inspections.
  • Participate in Management of Change (MOC) implementation and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain Operator Qualifications (OQ) and ensure procedures such as JSAs, LOTO, confined space, excavation, and hot work are followed.
  • Participate in safety meetings, emergency response drills, and incident investigations.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for pipeline operators.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license.
  • 5+ years of experience in pipeline, terminal, or oil and gas field operations.
  • Working knowledge of DOT 49 CFR Part 195 and pipeline safety regulations.
  • Experience with facility inspections, measurement systems, and custody transfer activities.
  • Experience with One Call systems, pipeline locating, and damage prevention practices.
  • Ability to complete regulatory documentation and compliance reporting.
  • Ability to work shifts, overtime, and respond to operational call-outs.
