Aimbridge Hospitality is actively recruiting for a remote Area Senior Sales Manager to help grow topline for a portfolio of 20 select service hotels! This is a remote role with up to 25% travel.
The Area Senior Sales Manager is responsible for attainment of assigned goals tied to the overall performance of the assigned collection of hotels. The individual will be responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new accounts. The Senior Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the properties' Director of Sales and Regional Vice-President of Sales to achieve the hotels' revenue and market share goals. The focus of sales may vary based on the respective property the associate is assigned to (i.e. Leisure Business Travel Group SMERF). This role will also serve as a mentor/trainer for members of the Sales team. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required with at least 2 years of previous Hotel Sales experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
- Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate convince sell and influence other managerial personnel hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
- Experience with professional selling skills desired: opening probing supporting closing
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks; strong organization and presentation skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Remote work with minimum of 25% travel to property and/or trade shows
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, meeting planners, among others that handle travel for accounts that touch 25% of the total portfolio of hotels
- Recognize gaps of business opportunities within the portfolio to be able to target and grow revenue (ie. entertainment, sports, government, business travel)
- Proactively conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and entertain clients specific to the business generated by this position as applicable by each hotel within the portfolio
- Review types of events happening in each market to target for potential groups and/or ensure proper eCommerce marketing is set up for the hotel(s)
- Monitor and evaluate trends within the portfolio and prospect accordingly based on market share opportunities within the negotiated and group sectors
- Qualify business opportunities until time of bidding, then communicate with on property team and assist in conversion
- Plan, coordinate, and track sales goal results and portfolio benchmarks
- Support executions of Aimbridge National Sales initiatives throughout portfolio
- Represent portfolio of hotels at trade shows (with or without Aimbridge National Sales) that with will provide financial benefits to 25% or more of the portfolio
- Communicate sales updates to Regional Vice President of Sales
- Attend scheduled monthly calls with NSO to review leads for hotels and discuss lead/booking trends for proactive focus
