Chemical Operators perform the duties required for the continuous production of chemicals according to DSM-Firmenich’s safety, quality, housekeeping, service (punctuality) and cost standards. This position will work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule, 7 days per week, 365 days per calendar year. Join us to make a significant impact!

Your key responsibilities
- Safely operate and monitor process equipment in area of responsibility.
- Maintain batch sheets, spreadsheets, control charts, and other documentation.
- Monitor process using GLC.
- Troubleshoot process & equipment problems, automation program, and provide support to Guardian teams.
- Recognize problems and unusual events and communicate to Shift Leader.
- Ensures transfer of accurate production data into SAP and spreadsheets and inventory accuracy, including proper labeling of all inventories.
- Provide clear communication at shift change.
- Assist co-workers as needed and as directed by Shift lead/supervisor
- Material movements (drums, forklift, etc.)
- Support PSM compliance: PCNs, safety committee, HAZOP, PSSR, etc

You bring
- High School diploma and equivalent experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of chemical process experience.
- Prior equipment operator experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of chemical process and an understanding of special formula instructions.
- Equipment operator experience in a chemical plant environment.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- Ability to provide feedback to Supervision in all critical areas such as equipment conditions.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervision and employees.
