Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a motivated and experienced Software Engineer to support operations in our Orlando, FL location.  This position will support developing software for emerging capabilities for the Mobility Air Force Distributed Mission Operations program. The capability to train the Aerial Refueling Mission is important for the success of the program, and will require innovative analytical and integration test tools. #LI-MJ1

What you will do

Designs, develops, documents, tests, maintains, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, document, test, maintain, and debug Virtual-Virtual Aerial Refueling (V-VAR) and other distributed simulation analysis software.
• Directly engage with engineering, Integration and Test, and customers to build product backlog for Scrum team.
• System design and software implementation of proof-of-concept prototypes incorporating a variety of engineering disciplines: distributed simulation, software development, machine learning, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, and simulation networks.

What you must have

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. 
• 5+ years of experience with software development using JavaScript, Typescript, Java, C#, or C++
• 5+ years of experience with implementing and supporting APIs between internal and external system components.
• Experience with Agile software development, Software Development Lifecycle processes, and debugging and analysis tools.
