We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill the role of Forklift Operator. This full-time, 1st Shift position is based in Simpsonville, SC and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a culture built on quality, integrity, and teamwork.
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating an industrial forklift truck to load and unload various materials and move them to and from assigned locations. Additionally, this position also requires material handling. The forklift operator must pay attention to detail to ensure the product is delivered accurately and on time, and to ensure the material is loaded correctly into the designated machine. This position requires adherence to safety standards in place to secure product as well as protect fellow employees.
Responsibilities
- Support the CARE values of the organization.

- Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.
- Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
- Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
- Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
- Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
- Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
- Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to truck mechanic.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent required with 2-3 years' experience with forklift operation
- Valid state-issued motor vehicle license.
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with multiple departments, read detailed instructions, possess basic math skills
- Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
Working Relationship
Communication is required across all levels of the organization- executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates and production floor workers. The forklift operator works under the immediate supervision of the Department Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs. at a time
- Stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for an extended period
PPE
Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times while on the production floor.
Safety
This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the production floor

Non-air-conditioned environments; hazardous materials such paints, stains, and solvents; machinery, conveyors, spray-booths and drying racks.
