Summary of Duties: Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for medical devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Perform sustaining engineering tasks, including troubleshooting, failure analysis, and design modifications to improve product reliability and manufacturability. Develop and review electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and component selections to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical components. Conduct risk analysis, verification, and validation testing of electrical subsystems to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues and manufacturing defects. Interface with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize component selection, procurement, and assembly processes. Maintain design documentation, including design history files, test reports, and engineering change orders, following regulatory and quality system requirements. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement in medical device designs. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to best practices in electrical engineering design.

Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study AND Six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study AND Six (6) years of experience, the employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study AND Eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must also have demonstrated experience with: Electrical design and development, preferably in the medical device industry; Analog and digital circuit design, power management, embedded systems, and PCB layout; Medical device regulations and standards (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and FDA); Circuit simulation, schematic capture, and PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, or PSpice); Troubleshooting tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and network analyzers); Embedded firmware development and interfacing with microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI and UART); and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles.

Salary offered for the position is $154,101.00 to $159,101.00/year
