Regional Manager (Montpelier, VT)

Simply Set is part of a family-owned wholesale grower specializing in a variety of seasonal product offerings, including annuals, perennials and vegetables. We supply large retailers who sell the product in sizable quantities. Our emphasis is on providing high quality plant material along with superior customer service!

We are looking for a Regional Manager to manage and direct a team of merchandisers at retail level, throughout our stores. Plant knowledge is helpful to this position. The right candidate will be skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem solving and must have previous management experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff within specific region
• Manage the daily workflow of all employees in region
• Cover 25+ stores within the territory
• Assist team with store sets, interact with vendors, customers and store personnel
• Oversee the merchandising and care of live plants
• Daily travel between stores
• Must be able to prioritize and coordinate a team of supervisors and merchandisers based on weekly budget
• Participate in weekly conference calls
• Weekly reporting to operations manager on store compliance
• Partner with Sales department to provide correct amount of product to meet the customers needs
• Relationship building with store operators

Requirements

• Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
• Tolerant of outdoor conditions during all seasons and weather.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Exceptional communication skills
• Must have and be comfortable with using a smart phone
• Clean MVR
• Plant knowledge not required but very helpful
• Full-time/Seasonal position - February-December – 40+hours/week with Saturdays required
