LaunchX offers premier entrepreneurship and innovation summer programs to high school students across the globe. With both online and on-campus programs, our team focuses on providing highly engaging content that gives real-world experience to high school students. Whether it is starting a legitimate startup or solving big business problems of real corporations, LaunchX leads the way for students to gain valuable lifelong skills.

The Role:

We're hiring several Community Interns to build community, coordinate stakeholder involvement, and lead social events during the LaunchX summer program. You will be responsible for assisting the LaunchX Team in their efforts to coordinate the involvement of speakers, mentors, and panelists. This position will require excellent written and verbal communication. 

The Community Intern should be excited to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of professionals, as well as students. The ideal candidate is interested in promoting positive aspects of community and social connections across the summer program, committed to student engagement, and a passion for hospitality in making our stakeholders feel valued and respected.

Commitment: 

This is a full-time temporary role. This intern will actively engage with the LaunchX Team, support the Lead Intern and Lead Instructors, and work independently. An inherent eagerness to guide students in their learning journey and maintain their enthusiasm for entrepreneurship is crucial. 

Position Term:

May 5 - August 12, 2025

Responsibilities: 

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator to facilitate the involvement of speakers, mentors, and panelists in program activities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to coordinate schedules, manage expectations, and ensure their engagement enhances the program's value.

Communication and Relationship Management:

  • Employ excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with a diverse group of professionals, students, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, responding to inquiries, providing necessary information, and ensuring a positive experience for all involved parties.
  • Exhibit a passion for hospitality by ensuring stakeholders feel valued, respected, and appreciated throughout their involvement in the program.

Community Development:

  • Actively participate in building a vibrant community atmosphere among participants, speakers, mentors, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for highlighting the positive aspects of community and social connections within the summer program.
  • Proactively contribute ideas and initiatives to create an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of social events throughout the program duration.
  • Take a supportive role in organizing and overseeing social activities, ensuring they align with the program's goals and foster a sense of community.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Assist in documenting community engagement activities, event details, and stakeholder interactions for reporting purposes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on community engagement efforts to the Community Engagement Coordinator.

Training and Education:

  • Successfully complete the Summer Program Training that covers the goals, approach, and details of the summer program, as it relates to the social events calendar
  • Provide day-to-day support for students
  • Triage and report and student issues or challenges to LaunchX staff.
  • Support in Demo Day preparation and execution

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse groups effectively.
  • Experience with virtual community leadership, especially for high school students (preferred).
  • Dedication to providing excellent hospitality and ensuring stakeholders feel valued.
  • Creative and adaptable, with a track record of thriving in new environments.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently on remote projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and proficiency with Google Drive and standard off
