Our Citi Americas Data Center Service Delivery (DCSD) role is responsible for providing timely and cost-effective installation and maintenance services to Americas Data Centers. DCSD is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and re-engineering (as applicable) all distributed systems and LAN/WAN infrastructures in the Americas Data Centers. DCSD provides onsite, 7 x 24 second and third level support for the Americas Data Center operations infrastructure. They provide hands-on break/fix support to resolve infrastructure/operations problems escalated from the Enterprise Command Centers and/or System Administrators. DCSD is responsible for end-to-end management of all technical requests. DCSD is responsible for hands-on infrastructure support for all Americas Data Center disaster recovery tests and/or situations, which may include reassignment of resources to various recovery sites in the Americas.
The Data Center Technician role is responsible for assisting with Data Center Service Delivery (DCSD) activities, LAN / WAN and help desk administration activities, including network maintenance, technical guidance, and security in coordination with the Technology Infrastructure team. The overall objective is to use infrastructure technology knowledge and identified policies to process data, resolve issues and execute administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Create complex project plans, perform impact analyses solve/work high impact problems/projects, and provide resolutions to restore services
- Perform hardware installations and professional services (racking/stacking, cabling, configurations, etc.)
- Ship new servers to DCPP (Data Center Physical Provisioning) team to rack after config/build.
- Partner with DCPP to un-rack and decommission servers
- Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) post restoration of service
- Installing/de-installing/relocating all distributed systems and network hardware (CSUs, DSUs, routers, switches, encryptors, firewalls, etc.) in the Americas Data Centers within the internal service level mandates
- Installing/de-installing /extending/relocating/testing all carrier circuits to the network hardware
- Installing/de-installing/relocating all patch cabling for systems and network hardware
- Installing/de-installing/relocating all Data Center hardware
- Assist with the coordination of cabinet power, circuit, and patch infrastructure installations w/various facilities, electrical and communications vendors
- Design testing approaches, complex processes, reporting streams, and create automation of repetitive tasks
- Review requirement documents, define hardware requirements and examine and update processes and procedures as necessary
- Provide technical/strategic direction and act as advisor/coach to lower level analysts
- Develop projects required for design of metrics, analytical tools, benchmarking activities and best practices
- Responsible for overall operating system applications
- Contribute to technical direction and strategic decisions
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in Infrastructure Technologies delivery with a proven track record of operational process change and improvement
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
- Ability to work with virtual and in-person teams, and work under pressure or to a deadline
- Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective analytic/diagnostic skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Work Schedule:
- Onsite day shift position. Work hours will be 19:00 - 07:00 CT, Workdays are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with alternating Wednesdays.
