Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a proven Principal Project Engineer to lead, develop, and establish the required technology and infrastructure for the E-6B Support Engineering & Sustainment Services (SESS) team. In this multi-faceted role you will help shape the business strategy, software configuration, deployment, and make technical recommendations to program and site leadership. You should be an established leader that can leverage proven experience leading cross functional teams.  Leading a long-term sustainment effort for a key customer, your ability to develop system architectures and translate technical concepts to sustainable products will be key.  If you are an established leader, business/tech savvy, and willing to push new boundaries, this is the role for you!

For the candidates with the corresponding experience and background, this position is eligible to be converted to a (P5) Sr. Principal Project Engineer.

What You Will Do:

• Lead a seasoned team of systems and software engineers in support of E-6B Mission System development efforts
• Provide technical leadership for several proposal and business development efforts establishing technical, schedule, and cost baselines for multiple the SESS portfolio of programs
• Plans, participates-in, and oversees software integration efforts at customer sites to include deployment, validation, and verification against requirements
• Travel Requirements:  Ability to travel 25%

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date ; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance 

• Experience with hardware & software design life cycle experience to include DoD airborne platform integration.

• Proven experience and understanding of Aerospace engineering design and analysis review/release process.

• Demonstrated experience leading cross functional project teams and managing performance against tight budget and schedule requirements 

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with hardware & software design life cycle experience
• Demonstrated, progressive leadership in the design and test of software components and integrated systems
• Experience using Agile methodologies to deliver software and mission capabilities.
• Experience navigating competing priorities, delivering the highest level of engagement and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations
• Prior Cost Account Manager experience or Earned Value Management System (EVMS) exposure
