<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p>
<p>BioCryst is currently looking for a motivated, proactive, and energetic individual to join the company's Finance team as a full-time, remote member. The Sr. Manager, International Payroll will play a critical role to ensure that payroll, one of the most critical processes for BioCryst, is accurate, timely, and managed effectively. You will play a critical role, partnering with operational teams as we continue to grow domestically and internationally! You will report to the Exec. Director, Global Payroll and will lead our ROW Payroll function at BioCryst. <strong>#LI-Remote</strong></p>

<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Play a vital role in designing short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in international payroll processing and in optimizing systems.</li>
<li>Oversee and supervise international payroll functions and team members (other international markets as they are opened), ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, completely and in compliance with all regulations.</li>
<li>Development and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of service delivery, making data-driven decisions to enhance quality and efficiency.</li>
<li>Manage setup of payroll for newly established entities and support expansion to new regions.</li>
<li>Ensure new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates and special payroll runs are processed accurately and timely.</li>
<li>Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with global policies and procedures along with legislative compliance requirements (including tax and labor laws).</li>
<li>Identify, recommend, and champion process improvements to the current payroll process and systems.</li>
<li>Design, implement and perform SOX compliant controls relevant to the payroll process.</li>
<li>Support the annual financial audit and tax-related activities, including preparation of audit support, and coordinate with external international accountants related to foreign subsidiary compliance requirements.</li>
<li>Build positive relationships to ensure successful collaborations to be able to respond to internal payroll questions, assist with the review of variable, equity, and special compensation transactions as needed, and handle ad-hoc payroll requests.</li>
<li>Stay current on payroll and tax compliance changes.</li>
<li>Coach, mentor and provide leadership development to team members to optimize operational excellence and build a deeper bench of talent.</li>

<p><strong>EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study; CPA preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>
<li>Minimum of 7 years of global payroll experience and in managing a payroll team.</li>
<li>Experience scaling payroll systems and procedures for a fast-growing global organization, with a proven record of successful project management.</li>
<li>Attention to detail, professional awareness, and sense of urgency for employee questions; be able to spot errors or exceptions quickly.</li>
<li>Strong experience with Microsoft Office.</li>
<li>Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, stock transactions and payroll taxes.</li>
<li>Excellent communicator and collaborator.</li>
<li>You are agile and enjoy the speed of a fast-paced, highly engaged startup environment.</li>
<li>Oracle and CloudPay experience a plus.</li>
