Position Summary: The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the activities of the organization’s environmental, employee health, and safety initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide strategic planning of safety and health function.
- Direct and coordinate activities of the safety and health operations department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
- Manage, plan, and implement programs to minimize or eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Develop accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization.
- Manage and coordinate safety initiatives to ensure implementation of safety and health procedures throughout the organization.
- Proactively identify and appraise conditions that could produce accidents and evaluate potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents.
- Prepare reporting and submit to internal and governmental agencies in a timely fashion.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents, and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned.
- Monitor compliance status with third-party contractor management platforms
- Provide claims management of worker’s compensation claims with both internal and external partners.
- Devise methods to evaluate safety programs and conduct or direct evaluations.
- Administer compliance of operations personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental and OSHA regulations.
- Ensure the organization complies with all federal, state, and other regulatory requirements in safety, environmental, traffic/transportation, etc.
- Directs coordinate, and may also conduct training sessions on environmental health and safety.
- Engage the organization around employee health and safety.
- Promote and support employee wellness activities in coordination with the Benefits function.
- Apply continuous process improvement techniques.
- This position requires up to 50% travel to all locations within the Guardian Protection footprint.
What You’ll Need:
- Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience collaborating with business leaders working across functional areas to articulate safety and health priorities and influence decisions to improve results.
- Experience interfacing with customers of commercial and residential natures
- Experience interfacing with employees in field operations during work at customer locations (including commercial and residential)
- Proficient in the development, delivery, and facilitation of safety training and prevention measures
- Experience with complying with customer requests
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to adapt to changing demands
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient technical skills including Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and reporting using HRIS system(s).
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments periodically
- Must possess a valid drivers license with a clear record
Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional or other professional certification(s) (ASP, OHST, GSP, CIH. Etc.)
- Experience working with geographically dispersed workforces a plus
- Experience dealing with third party contractor safety management platforms a plus
- First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification a plus
