JOB OVERVIEW

The Microsoft Identity Engineer is a Senior role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing identity and access management systems, with a primary focus on Active Directory, Entra ID, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access Policies, and Certificate Authorities (CA). This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, protecting sensitive data, and providing seamless access for our users.

The Microsoft Identity Engineer will lead the strategic planning and execution of identity management solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Expertise in identity and access management is instrumental in enhancing our security posture, streamlining user authentication processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role demands a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in identity management.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Design, implement, and manage identity and access management systems, focusing on Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access Policies, and CA.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the integrity and security of identity management solutions.
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of identity management projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze technical specifications, and design solutions that meet business needs.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to identity and access management systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of identity and access management systems to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in identity management, recommending and implementing new technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident response and recovery efforts, ensuring timely resolution of security incidents related to identity and access management.
  • Engage with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions that enhance our identity management capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education – bachelor’s degree in information technology, related field, or equivalent experience in Engineering role
  • 10+ years of experience in complex environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities, and related reporting to identify best practices.
