About the role

Description

Reed College seeks a research assistant to join Professor Sam Fey’s aquatic ecology research lab. This is a grant funded, limited duration position with an end date after one year. This is subject to extension.

Starting salary for this position is $20.60/hour-23.00/hour. Pay offers are contingent upon experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an overtime eligible position on grade RA.

Who you are

  • You have experience working with algal populations 

  • You have experience with foundational knowledge of ecology and evolutionary biology

  • You are familiar with R programming language

What You’ll Do

  • Design and complete experiments and observational studies related to aquatic ecology

  • Analyze new and existing datasets 

  • Write scientific manuscripts

  • Present scientific findings 

  • Interact with Reed undergraduates in a lab setting

Qualifications

B.A. or B.S. degree in biology or a related field
