Cyber Security Intern - Summer 2026

What you’ll be doing:

• Learn the tools used in the PPT SOC, including SIEM, EDR/XDR and case management tools.
• Learn and contribute to the threat intelligence and analysis process.
• Review SIEM and EDR events to identify and respond to threats.
• Review logs and events to investigate anomalous activity.
• Develop and execute security awareness training.
• Educates employees about the proper way to handle possible compromised systems.
• Stays abreast of developments in Information Security, as well as those in Information Technology industry specifically as they relate to security.
• Analyze security incidents to determine root cause.
• Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
• Define and create a security capstone project to encapsulate what was learned through the internship.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

What we are looking for:

• Interest in cyber security and information technology.
• General computer literacy.
• Introductory knowledge of security concepts: AV, Firewall, etc.
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
• Good communication skills (Verbal and Written).

 

• Strong analytical
• Ability to effectively work and interact with customers and team members.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in information technology, software development or security a plus.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems a plus
• Experience with coding or scripting languages a plus 

 

Education:

• Relevant educational experience or degree a plus
• Relevant security related certifications a plus: CISSP, GCIA, GSEC, GCIH, GCED, GCFA, GREM.

 

Travel:

• Less than 5%.
