Position Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent patient communication, and seamless coordination between patients, doctors, and staff. This individual will handle scheduling, patient inquiries, insurance verification, and administrative tasks—all while maintaining a professional and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner both in person and over the phone.
• Manage patient scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-ups to maximize office efficiency.
• Verify insurance coverage and assist patients with benefits questions.
• Process patient check-in/check-out, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Communicate effectively with optometrists, technicians, and optical staff to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Address patient concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Support front desk and clinical teams with additional administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications
• Previous medical or optometry office experience preferred, but not required (training provided).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software, EHR systems, and basic computer applications (Word, Excel, email).
• Knowledge of vision and medical insurance plans is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
