The Raytheon Architecture, Standards & Design (ASD) team is responsible for researching, developing, and integrating cyber-compliant, standardized system solutions using innovative designs to enhance execution efficiency and the capabilities of digitally supported programs. ASD is seeking a Sr. Principal Solutions Architect support the design, integration, and administration of system solutions within classified and unclassified program work environments. They will be responsible to work with senior engineers to determine system requirement, specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of Information Systems. They will also be responsible for assisting in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex system problems developing and recommending courses of action where needed.

Role Type/Location/travel note - This position is remote, based at your US Domestic home office, but, travel or commuting will be required on an infrequent basis to one of our major US locations such as:

Marlborough, MA

Tewksbury/Andover, MA

Woburn, MA

Tucson, AZ

Portsmouth RI

Pelham NH

Huntsville, AL

McKinney or Richardson TX

El Segundo or Fullerton CA

Aurora, CO

If the selected applicant does not reside near one of these locations, they will travel where needed based on program request. Travel will be infrequent.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide leadership to support a varied range of administrative tasking, to include corrective/preventive maintenance, recurring operations functions, and system optimization.
  • Coordinate technical and process document reviews.
  • Advise support teams for system administration, engineering, and integration issues.
  • Participate in and lead technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, representing the organization in functional area matters.
  • Provide IT systems design support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. 
  • Develop and coordinate IT technology strategies, roadmaps, and reference architectures.
  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions.
  • Support proposal teams and technical review teams to aid the creation of technical solutions.
  • Develop effective business relationships, and foster an open culture of collaboration.
  • Perform technology evaluations, develop proof-of-concepts, and look for opportunities to introduce advanced Information Technologies into solutions and products.
  • Develop and drive the use of common processes and tools across the program function.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
  • Travel may be required or commuting to the local Raytheon US Domestic Site.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Role typically requires a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, in lieu of degree, those with 12 years of relevant experience will be considered.
