Otis is seeking a highly motivated Technical Customer Service Consultant to join out team in Bloomfield, CT .

On a typical day you will:

• Communicate directly with field offices, mechanics, supervisors, and repair technicians to coordinate material requests.

• Identify and receive incoming electronic material from external customers.

• Place and approve customer Return Authorizations for repairs.

• Ensure availability of WIP and limit excess inventory

• Create repair requisitions and build PO’s for items in the repair program.

• Support ongoing internal projects such as Inventory Reduction and Obsolescence.

• Managing WIP (Work in Progress) inventory with field requests for returns.

• Requires data manipulation in various software packages such as SDC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc. 

• Manage tracking requests and follow-ups to ensure customers have the most up-to-date order information and meet deadlines.

• Follows safety rules, practices, and other safety requirements for all projects.     

• All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as required.

• Must comply with all EH&S policies and procedures.

• Participate in annual inventory.

What you will need to be successful:

• The ideal candidate should be well-spoken with a professional demeanor and strong customer service and computer skills.   In addition, the successful candidate:

• Must be a self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Manage multiple tasks and be willing to work in a fast-paced team environment.

• Ability and willingness to learn technical aspects & processes (reading Engineering drawings and understanding part usage.

• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to balance the needs of the Customer and the business when making decisions.

• Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.

Physical Demand:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., the employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises.

• Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception.

• Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Education:

• The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Technical trade school certificate is preferred.
