Across Capital One, product managers lead & collaborate across functional areas, lines-of-business, and staff teams to reimagine the status quo, find significant value creation opportunities, and drive innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology solutions.  There are five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product management at Capital One:

About the Team:

At the start of 2025, the Retail Bank Product Operations established four key objectives centered around enabling efficient and effective delivery of customer & business value across the product delivery lifecycle:

  • Relentlessly align resources & capacity against the Retail Bank's top priorities

  • Sharply improve the cross-functional operating model to accelerate delivery

  • Steadily fuel product excellence with actionable & scalable tools and standards

  • Elevate bank product managers and their experience through sustainable programs

In this role, you will be accountable for defining and installing the product standards and practices that will make the product community great as the business and customer landscape continues to evolve.  From day one, you will collaborate with smart, passionate leaders across functional areas to create the playbook that will equip product teams to efficiently and effectively deliver Customer and Business value.  In short, this leader will lead the strategy for defining our approach for enabling and cultivating bank product leaders for the future while engaging/influencing enterprise-wide programming on behalf of Retail Bank Product.

The person will:

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive change

  • Have a deep understanding of the product ecosystem, strong technical acumen,  and strong experience around the  product development lifecycle

  • Ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Display a passion for coaching and leading through others

  • Excellent communication and partnership skills

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: 

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economic
