The Department of General and Specialized Surgery evaluates and treats common and complex conditions affecting the abdomen, gastrointestinal system and breasts. Our experienced caregivers are skilled in minimally invasive methods, including robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgeries. As an RN in this unit, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional medical attention to patients. In this role, you can also benefit from committee participation, tuition reimbursement and unit education initiatives to enhance your skills and find your place within the Cleveland Clinic system.
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. OR 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
