Position Description:
 

The Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician assists oncology pharmacist in compounding timely preparations and distribution of medications and IV solutions to include chemotherapy and bio-therapeutic agents for infusion center patients in conjunction with established guidelines, policies and statutory requirements. This position maintains drug inventory, and maintenance of IV clean rooms to ensure effective patient care. The Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician works only under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Qualifications:
1. Certified as a Pharmacy Technician with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy required.
2. Certification in Sterile IV & Hazardous compounding by an accredited institution or willing to become certified within six months of beginning work
3. Minimum of one year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
4. Basic computer literacy preferred.
