Job Title: General Partner Accounting, Associate

 

Job Description:

The General Partner Accounting (GPA) team is primarily responsible for quarterly GAAP reporting, which flows into the 10K and 10Q, and internal tax reporting to the Blackstone personnel that participate in the firm’s SBS and Carried Interest Programs. The Associate will gain an understanding of Partnership accounting, from both a GAAP and Tax perspective, and become familiar with certain tax forms (such as Schedule K1, Federal and State tax returns).

 

The successful candidate will have GAAP and Tax reporting responsibility for our General Partner (GP) and Side-by-Side (SBS) entities.

• Full accounting and reporting responsibilities for GP and SBS entities
• Oversight of our offshore team including daily and monthly journal entry review and related reconciliations
• Extensive interaction with our fund & tax accountants
• Quarterly GAAP Financial Statements utilizing Investran and Oracle software
• Quarterly GAAP disclosure items
• Fund to GP Reconciliation of Partner Contributions and Distributions
• Preparation of Federal and State Tax Estimates
• Annual Tax compliance utilizing iPACS/Investran/Excel software
• Partner analysis and explanation of tax information as requested
• Annual preparation of audited Side-by-Side Financial Statements
• Sarbanes Oxley compliance

 

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of related experience
• Accounting degree is required
• CPA or public accounting experience pursuing CPA a plus
• Strong analytical skills, confidence and interpersonal skills are required
• Strong MS Excel skills are required
• Alternative Asset Management experience is a plus
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are critical
• Results-oriented individual with a sense of urgency and commitment

Expected annual base salary range:

$105,000 - $140,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
