Description
Lourdes University invites applicants for adjunct faculty in the Department of Biology and Health Sciences. In particular, we seek an engaging instructor to teach our Ecology lecture courses for the fall of 2025. This employment may continue with other Biology courses in the spring depending on course availability and job performance.
Essential Functions:
• Deliver in-person and engaging lecture course that covers the Ecology topics in the course outlines.
• Present a dynamic classroom presence.
• Evaluate student work and provide feedback in a timely manner.
• Reply to student emails in a timely manner.
• Respond to institutional requests in a timely manner.
• Assist with assessment as needed by the department.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work with traditional students as well as adult learners.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or demonstrated experience in Ecology in a professional role.
• Commitment to working with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population.
• Ability to use lab equipment safely.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biology with expertise in Ecology or Environmental Science; or a master’s degree or doctorate in a related field with 18 hours of graduate coursework in Biology; or ABD in Biology with expertise in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field with active progress toward degree completion and at least 36 credit hours of graduate course work in Biology.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the college level preferred but not required.
