About the role
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 5 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with Linux kernel development.
- Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design and expertise in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, performance and application issues along with knowledge of CI/CD best practices.
- Ability to grow in a fluid, dynamic, and complex technical environment.
- Ability to provide leadership that delivers outcomes.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative strategies, processes and infrastructure to build, test, qualify and release new software versions at scale.
- Partner with stakeholders across Technical Infrastructure (TI), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Deep Mind to understand their priorities and how CoreOS can fulfill them.
- Partner with internal and open source Linux developers to understand latest advancements and how they impact performance and functionality of our production fleet.
- Build tools and dashboards to generate insights around kernel quality and risk assessment.
- Manage Google internal functionality required for integrating upcoming Google custom hardware (ML infra, Memory chips, etc).
