UC Health is hiring a part-time transport paramedic to join our Mobile Care team!
The transport paramedic will provide care for a diverse and multi-faceted patient population. They will work to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the appropriate level of patient care according to the approved scope of practice.

Unit Details:
- Air Care & Mobile Care has provided the Greater Cincinnati area with specialized medical transport services for patients in our community for over 35 years.
- Air Care & Mobile Care is the only service in the region to be accredited in four levels of medical transport by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
- Air Care & Mobile Care specializes in caring for and transporting critically injured and sick patients, wherever they may be, by bringing the world-class care of UC Health to the patient.
PATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY):
Engages in population appropriate communication.
Knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
PATIENT CARE:
Provide high quality care to patients in the transport environment under the direction of the Program Medical Director and the referring and/or receiving Physician in accordance with policies, protocols and standards of care.
Autonomously evaluate critically ill or injured patients of all age groups (infant, pediatric through adult), provide therapeutic intervention, emergency interventions, and preparation for an inter-facility transport.
Collaborate with other members of the team, including drivers, coworkers, leadership, other healthcare partners and customers.
Assess for and detect changes in the status of patients and demonstrate a proactive approach to solving patient and family problems.
Plan, organize and position equipment and supplies for use in emergency conditions before, during and after transport.
Maintain complete and accurate records, complete all transport documentation by the communicated deadline, participate in quality assurance programs, perform data collection and participate in any special projects.
Maintain clinical proficiency across all aspects of the scope of practice including care of patients with neurological emergencies, cardiac emergencies, pediatric emergencies, obstetrical emergencies, traumatic emergencies, and any other patient populations outlined in the program mission.
Perform all physical requirements of job in confined spaces and under adverse environmental conditions.
Complete transports initiated with in the timeframe of the scheduled shift, understanding that completion of these transports might require extend beyond scheduled work hours.
Participation in all required didactic, clinical and lab education programs and maintenance of all required certifications and licenses.
Maintain clinical competency in scope of practice appropriate procedures and equipment, including but not limited to ventilators, IV pumps, dopplers, chest tubes, ventricular assist devices, and advanced airway management.
Able to assist in the Emergency Department at West Chester Hospital
Emergency Department Environment:
Participates in the hospital’s Emergency Operations Plan during disaster situations
Communicates with various departments in a cooperative manner
Performs quick registration of patients
Effectively communicates to patients and families
Ordering, stocking, and cleaning assigned area
Maintains specialty
