Program Details
- Dates: May–August (with some flexibility to accommodate academic schedules)
- Duration: 12 weeks | Full-time (40 hrs/week) | Some part-time roles available
- Locations: Hybrid schedule with 3 in-office days at one of our hubs: Costa Mesa, CA | Denver, CO | Stratham, NH | Greensboro, NC
Eligibility
- Junior or senior enrolled in a U.S. 4-year university, ideally graduating May 2026–June 2027
- Able to work in-person for the full program (check role descriptions for relocation/housing support)

Data Science Intern – Agentic Delivery Support
Full-Time Temporary: 40 hours/week
Location Requirement: In-person in Greensboro, NC or Denver, CO
*Relocation and housing stipends available if a move required*
What will you do?
A day in the life of a Data Science Intern at VF looks like this:
You’ll work within the Global Data Science & Gen AI team, supporting initiatives that span multiple regions. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to help design, deploy, and monitor Agentic systems—AI-powered agents that automate tasks and drive intelligent decision-making. This role reports to the Manager, Agentic Delivery.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more:
- Assist in developing and evaluating Agentic workflows and autonomous agents
- Support data collection, preprocessing, and analysis to inform agent behavior
- Collaborate on prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and testing of LLM-based agents
- Help build dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance and impact
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to translate business needs into AI use cases
- Document learnings and processes for internal knowledge sharing
What do you need to succeed?
We all bring unique skills to work every day. For this role, here are the foundation skills you’ll need:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with Python and data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy)
- Understanding of basic machine learning concepts
- Interest in generative AI, autonomous agents, and intelligent automation
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred (not required):
- Experience with prompt engineering or LLM fine-tuning
- Exposure to MLOps tools and practices
- Knowledge of dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
