DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCES & MATHEMATICS LECTURER

POOL POSITION 

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Department of Sciences and Mathematics of Cal Poly Maritime Academy invites applicants for Lecturers in Mathematics. Applicants will be expected to teach in-person courses in different areas of the mathematics curriculum serving our seven degree-granting majors, mathematics minor, and our new data science minor. In addition to teaching, duties include holding office hours, preparing materials, grading student works (including homework, reports, quizzes, exams), assessing student learning outcomes for their courses, attending regular coordinated course meetings (if teaching coordinated courses), and submitting final grades. Prior and current materials for courses will be provided. We seek a collegial, dynamic educator committed to creating an environment of active student learning and delivering an equitable experience to students across sections.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Teaching a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses, such as College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus. Link to Course Catalog Descriptions
  • Participate in coordination of gateway mathematics activities as applicable.
  • Attend all required faculty training sessions and faculty meetings, as directed by Department Chair or Dean.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
