Position Overview
We are looking for individuals with experience in one or more of the following: projects focused on productivity, cost reduction, product and value chain evaluations, working with cross functional teams and more. This role will collaborate with Design, Applications, and Marketing to lead ideation workshops and capture insights to drive margin improvement and value add opportunities to existing products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with business unit teams to execute on Design to Value (DtV) projects
- Build a fact-base to drive DtV execution consisting of design, sourcing, and customer insights
- Determine cost drivers to identify cost take out opportunities
- Analyze Bill of Materials (BOMs) and engineering drawings to identify cost effective alternative materials and processes
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and routings to identify time savings opportunities
- Research, deconstruct, analyze, and benchmark best in class product features to identify economical tradeoffs
- Host Lunch & Learns with suppliers and BU to learn about technological improvements.
- Estimate productivity opportunity size and prepare productivity business cases
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or 2+ years relevant industry experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working independently as well as with a cross functional team
- Experience tearing down products and documenting observations
- Demonstrable experience in two or more of the following:
- Voice of the customer experience to validate and drive initiatives
- Full product life cycle insights with an emphasis on productivity
- Supply chain insights
- Manufacturing and commercialization experience
- Assessing value propositions
- Maintaining and organizing multiple projects
