Job Description

About the Role: 

In this position you will be an integral part of leading a transformation of O-I and the glass industry through innovative, sustainable, and disruptive new technologies.  Together with a highly collaborative and diverse team you will have opportunities to implement new operating models enabled by an engaging culture that drives performance through safety, teamwork, and accountability.  We are looking for people who have an inherent initiative to continually learn and make a real impact.  We aim to continually transform ourselves, challenging the boundaries and constraints of what’s possible, to deliver world class performance and advancement for our teammates and stakeholders. 

In this position, you will have the exciting opportunity to safely lead the operations function for O-I’s newest glass container manufacturing facility enabled by MAGMA technology in Bowling Green, KY.  You will lead a highly flexible and skilled set of teammates during ongoing operations from raw material through finished products.  You will be responsible to lead production teammates in operations, quality systems, and job changes to achieve world-class safety and quality performance.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work in a cross-functional team in partnership with plant leadership, closely linked with all plant teammates to support performance and development of your teams. 

Qualifications

About You: 

• You’re a good communicator with strong ability to be proactive and show initiative – building and driving completely new, transformational solutions for the plant; hands-on approach to drive and execute transformational change; challenging the status quo. 
• You have knowledge in operational leadership processes, activities, responsibilities, rules & regulations, job changes, and quality systems including food safety 
• Experience managing overall operations activities and practices in a manufacturing facility while maintaining compliance with global initiatives and standards 
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant area for operations management, business, engineering or similar educational field / work experience 
• 10+ years’ work experience in glass container manufacturing operation with strong production and quality experience 
• Have experience working with small and large manufacturing industries 
• Experience in greenfield, business expansion, innovation and/or fluid business environment 
• Strong drive for personal growth, learning new skills and support others in their development 
• Understand the complexity of working in a global matrix environment 
• Love glass and care about sustainability and the planet 
• Good team player 

Travel Requirements: 

• Up to 35% Domestic and international travel until start-up of factory in 2024 and up to 10% thereafter
