The Dalio Family Office (DFO) is seeking to recruit a Head of Investments to partner closely with Ray Dalio (Principal) on the build out of the investment pillar. Key responsibilities would include the development, implementation and ongoing execution of the firm’s global investment strategies. The Head of Investments will articulate and implement a sustainable, systematic framework for manager selection across asset classes globally. In addition, leading and fostering an environment of development, accountability, mutual respect, and teamwork that supports and encourages the dedication and long-term loyalty of all employees will be a key responsibility of the role.

 

The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial and opportunistic mindset with a high level of intellectual curiosity. This person will be a thought leader with strong investment acumen, experience working across multiple asset classes, and an in-depth knowledge of strategic asset allocation and manager selection. Ideally, this position will be based in Abu Dhabi; if not, it would entail spending up to 50% of time at that location with additional travel to Asia, Europe, and the US.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Investments

• With direction from the Principal, refine and manage overall asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection and monitoring.
• Create, define, articulate, and systematize a successful, sustainable and repeatable manager selection process.
• Provide leadership for research on global investment themes, forward-looking trends that help inform where to allocate capital on an ongoing basis.
• Generate superior investment results compared to relevant benchmarks.

 

Team Management and Development

• Lead a team responsible for evaluation of existing and potential investment managers across asset classes through manager meetings, portfolio and attribution analyses.
• Recruit, develop, motivate, and manage team members.
• Create a positive, collaborative environment focused on a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and learning.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Establish credibility and form constructive working relationships with key constituents within the DFO ecosystem and help achieve the DFO’s overall objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including others in the investment community.
