The Director of Softball Operations oversees the day to day operations of the Softball program.  Due to the very confidential nature of student-athlete recruiting, the incumbent is in a highly sensitive position and must be able to maintain trust of the entire coaching staff.  The incumbent is exposed daily to information of a highly confidential nature and must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism.  In conjunction, the incumbent must be aware of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.

20% Administrative duties such as negotiations of contracts and scheduling; recording and maintaining team statistics; monitors and prepares budget; handles all purchasing; assist with facility/office improvement projects; liaison to Marketing Dept. to assist with marketing plan, media guides, posters, schedule cards, etc.

20% Assists coaches with recruiting duties such as compiling information; maintaining database in recruiting software; plan and coordinate all visits(Official and Unofficial); creating and distributing weekly mailouts and in-home packets; liaison with Compliance Office; coordinates scholarship paperwork; prepares academic letters, mailing lists and National Letter of Intent.

20% Liaison with Athletic Business Office for transportation, lodging, meals, etc.  Primary contact for updates, changes, etc.  Coordinates meals for hotel and post games.  Secures post game meal money for participating athletes and support staff.  Coordinates plane/bus travel for away games.  Coordinates stay, room assignments, etc.  Prepares corresponding vouchers.

20% Direct ordering responsibility with contract equipment manufacturer for all team gear and equipment including uniforms.  Responsible to maintain equipment ordering database, spreadsheet of equipment issuance for all team members and maintain budget for all equipment needs.  Coordinate ordering of team specific gear and replacement items needed throughout season in fulfillment of the separate equipment contract. Maintain organization of locker room and storage area.  Assist in ensuring proper use of facility.

10% Responsible for the supervision of student managers.  Responsible for hiring, scheduling and oversees the work.  

10% Schedule practice times in home facilities and for away competition.  Coordinate schedules of individual workouts, practices, and weight lifting/conditioning.  Coordinate opponent practice times when on-campus.  Ensure practice times do not conflict with class schedules, tutoring, and study hall appointments.  Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its department; Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; Three years experience in a DI athletic program as a student athlete, coach or administrator; Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
