Sr MSSQL Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior MSSQL Developer with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and working knowledge of DB2. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex database solutions, ensuring high performance and availability. You will work closely with application developers, architects, and stakeholders to support database-driven business solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  

• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and monitoring tools.
  

• Troubleshoot database issues, provide root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  

• Collaborate with application teams to define database requirements and ensure data integrity and security.
  

• Develop and maintain ETL processes as required.
  

• Ensure proper backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes are in place.
  

• Document database designs, configurations, and processes.
  

• Support database migration and upgrade initiatives.
  

• Leverage knowledge of DB2 to support systems that require cross-platform data access or integration.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 7–9 years of total IT experience, with 4–6 years of strong hands-on experience in MSSQL development.
  

• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above).
  

• Proficient in T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  

• Experience with database design, normalization, and ER modeling.
  

• Good understanding of DB2 and ability to work with DB2-based systems.
  

• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, or other SQL Server BI tools is a plus.
  

• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  

• Familiarity with source control tools and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  

• Microsoft certifications related to SQL Server are a plus.
  

• Exposure to cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.
