Non-Credit Skills Training Adjunct – Information Technology

Ivy Tech - Bloomington is seeking passionate and experienced instructors to lead non-credit instruction in a variety of information technology and cybersecurity courses for adult learners. Depending on the project, courses are led in-person within our eight-county service area or virtually.

Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate and experienced instructors to lead IT non-credit classes. The ideal candidates should be knowledgeable about the ever-changing landscape of information technology and cybersecurity and be able to engage and instruct participants in a fun and informative manner. We are interested in working with IT professionals in a range of programming structures and formats, including in-person and remote instruction. Offerings are either open to the public or specially designed to meet the needs of an employer partner. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for IT non-credit skills training in person or remotely, depending on the project. 

• Respond to student questions via email or through Canvas, the learning management system. 

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging participants to ask questions and actively participate in the learning process.

• Track the progression of student skills as deemed necessary by industry certification requirements. 

• Meet periodically with industry partners to ensure objectives are met. 

• Welcome feedback from participants to help improve the quality of classes and the overall experience.

This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) parameters, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Compensation:

• The contracted hourly rate is $40-75, commensurate with experience. 

• Paid via class contract per class basis, including additional preparation and development hours calculated based on class duration and needs.

• Classes may be proposed for scheduling throughout the year based on instructor interest and employer/industry demand.
