Job Summary:SUNY Brockport seeks a Financial Analyst to join its Budget Office Team. Reporting to the University’s Director of Budgeting, this professional position will serve to support the daily operations of the Budget Office as well as various reporting needs at the local and SUNY levels. Serving in this role, the Financial Analyst will complete tasks which include, various journal transfers, monthly, quarterly, and annual department and account level reporting and review, campus billing, and miscellaneous financial tracking/monitoring to meet the needs of the campus. The Financial Analyst will work alongside the current Financial Analyst, serving as backup for responsibilities as needed. At times, the Financial Analyst may be asked to perform duties to support the Director of Budgeting and the Assistant Vice President for Finance and Management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree by time of appointment, from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability multitasking with a strong attention to detail either in a professional or educational setting.
- Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to work independently and take an active role in the position.
- Ability and willingness to provide customer service and communicate with the internal team, campus constituents, and external stakeholders when needed.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with university and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field by time of appointment, from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- 1 year of experience in a professional business and/or finance related position.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience working in a SUNY higher education institution.
