About the role

Vice President, Sales


As Vice President of Sales, you will lead a team of directors, managers, and sales professionals responsible for achieving the organization's pipeline and revenue goals. Your leadership will drive revenue growth by guiding the team to build a robust pipeline within our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), optimizing and executing effective sales processes, managing top-tier talent, and collaborating closely across the organization.

In this role, you will contribute to Billtrust's strategic vision by providing market, prospect, and customer insights that enhance product development and service delivery. You will scale our global presence while empowering a talented sales organization to achieve outstanding results. Additionally, the VP will serve as a point of escalation for challenges faced by internal and external stakeholders within the sales organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, coach, and advocate for a team of sales professionals, enabling them to exceed sales and revenue targets.
  • Optimize pipeline growth and sales processes while ensuring consistent execution.
  • Recruit and retain top-tier sales talent across all levels of the sales organization to support the company's expansive market opportunity.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to maximize demand generation efforts and account-based marketing investments.
  • Oversee forecasting processes to ensure accurate and predictable results.
  • Partner with senior leaders to provide actionable feedback to Product Strategy, Professional Services, and other teams to drive process and product enhancements.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, high performance, and ethical behavior across the sales organization.

 What You'll Bring: 

  • A proven track record in selling SaaS B2B enterprise software and leading geographically distributed sales teams (10+ years of relevant experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and manage highly engaged teams.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of effectively working in team-oriented environments to overcome challenges.
  • Proven success in scaling sales organizations, particularly with enterprise-level customers in the financial technology sector.
  • Expertise in recruiting and retaining high-performing sales professionals who consistently exceed targets.
  • Experience defining, implementing, and maintaining systematic, disciplined sales processes across sales teams.
  • Exceptional leadership and influencing skills, with strong interpersonal capabilities and business acumen.
  • A history of negotiating six- and seven-figure annual recurring revenue contracts with large corporate customers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

The expected base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $230,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.
