As a Global Proposals Manager for Systems Integration, you are key member of the Sales & Proposals team. This position supports API (Analyzer Products & Integration) business in a strategic and operational basis by taking ownership of the quality of both technical and pricing content on the front-end deliverable to the customer. This role requires excellent technical, analytical, and reporting skills to leverage quoting configuration tools. Reports to the Global Sales Director.
In this role you will:
Manage global quotations department ensuring achievements of company's short and long-term goals and objectives. Review RFQ/Customer requirements, specifications, project design effort/ BOM to develop application/solution to support the Sales team in a timely manner throughout all phases of RFQ. Oversees and manage estimating, quotations, and proposal development team, ensuring all necessary tools, training, knowledge, experience, and support to achieve stated quality, to deliver accurate and on-time proposal to sales team. Recruit, mentor, train/cross-train and develop personnel to function as a self-directed work team responsible for daily activities of RFQ’s assigned. Design right KPIs and quotas for quotations team (Hit rate, NCC, Churn rate, Volume $). Create dashboards for workload visibility by designing and implementing Gemba/Scrum meetings to manage on a daily/ weekly basis as appropriate. Identify/implement digitalization ideas/tools to show visibility of individual workload/progress/work status for appropriate quote assignment and communicating real time status to all stakeholders. Engage with Sales forecasting and utilize CRM tool (Salesforce) to forecast RFQ loading and design flexibility to accommodate demand swings. Be a working Manager to prepare quotes to fill resource gaps as needed. Work on GC/SI quote tools to identify/formulate ways to combine GC and SI processes to maximize efficiency to take advantage of the integrated Houston operation. Implement front end quality gates such as ‘bid presentation’ meetings to extract Customer needs from Account Managers and align Proposals specialist to address those needs. Engage/Interface with Global procurement to identify, formulate and implement cost effective and quicker ways of sourcing material to be competitive. Ensure quote approval procedures (LoA) are followed and activate appropriate approvals as needed per Valmet guidelines. Be the final QC point before release of the quote and take accountability of the technical quality (content/format) and competitiveness (cost) of the quote. Provide leadership in developing new quotation configuration tool by identifying gaps/measures to enhance quote modules and work with Engineering to improve quote efficiency/accuracy. Support Account Managers in developing newer execution models like price book for Standardization, Modularization, Packages solutions efforts. Perform staff management and administrative responsibilities of recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluation, mentoring, skills development, disciplinary actions and salary management. Develop transparency, closer working relationship and open communication with Operations group to ensure we are connected as one team so we can agree on estimates, reducing waste in our process and NCC’s. Experience and skilled as a work team facilitator and coach with strong communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Experience in reading / understanding petrochemical or refinery electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, structural specifications.
Experience in reviewing analytical system integration quotations against a set of customer specifications and analyzer data sheets.
Project experience in the field at a petrochemical or refinery site.
Knowledge of software including: AutoCAD, SAP, ChemCAD, Visual Basic is a plus. Working knowledge of codes / standards: NEC, IEC, API, NFPA, ISA
Firm grasp of hazardous area classifications: Class I Division 1, Class I Division 2, ATEX Zone 1, and ATEX Zone 2 electrical areas.
Experience with NEMA 7 electrical equipment for hazardous areas.
Knowledge of analyzers technologies including: GC, UV/IR CGAs, O2 ,
