And our work depends on a Technical Writer joining our team to remotely support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) CMS Federal Services System Support and Oversight (FSSSO) program. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Writer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to follow internal processes for deliverable development and to draft and edit design documents for public-facing training and education materials such as website content, training videos, webinars, user guides, email announcements, and handouts. In this role, a typical day includes:
- Researching, preparing, editing, tracking, and reporting on design documents for public-facing website content and training materials.
- Ensuring documents meet customer specifications, including standards for quality, plain language, active voice, format, and style.
- Preparing, editing, and standardizing storyboards for training videos.
- Editing screenshots and other graphic content for use in design documents and training content.
- Reviewing and incorporating stakeholder feedback.
- Preparing and editing contract deliverables, including meeting minutes, internal job aids, and stand operating procedures.
- Building content expertise while using solid proofreading and layout skills to develop polished client deliverables.
- Collecting and combining content from multiple technical and non-technical sources into a single coherent document, ensuring the project teams adhere to GDIT corporate policies and procedures, and recommending project-specific processes as appropriate.
- Proactively evaluating the needs of the workstream and developing and delivering solutions that improve program/project performance and client satisfaction.
- Completing other duties and special projects, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media and 5+ years of hands-on experience preparing and editing technical documents.
- 6+years of experience working as a Graphic Artist and/or Digital Media, with hands-on multimedia editing experience.
- 2+ years of experience working as an Instructional Designer.
- Hands-on expertise using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on experience developing Section 508-compliant interactive Computer-Based Training (CBT) courses for adult learning using Articulate 360.
- Experience facilitating and collaborating with internal scrum teams and external stakeholders, gathering requirements and aligning instructional deliverables with operational needs and developing written and visual forms of communication, such as process diagrams and user guides.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation, and facilitation, with the ability to interface with various levels of technical personnel, subject matter experts, and senior level stakeholders.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
- Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

- Master’s degree in Instructional Design
