Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Remediation team in our Latham, New York office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.
The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.
The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work collaboratively with the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager and other teams within the Remediation department, and professionals within other AECOM internal business lines.
- Support the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager to achieve business growth objectives. This includes developing new business, marketing to potential and existing clients, and being integral in the process of securing and managing clients and contracts.
- Manage client portfolios and acting as Project Manager on large, complex projects, responsible for technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
- Function as the Engineer of Record sealing and signing reports, drawing sets, technical specifications, and related regulator application forms.
- Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
- Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Assist with development of junior staff through mentoring.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- New York State Professional Engineering license.
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Geology, Engineering or related degree.
- 10+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm.
- Seller-doer with business development and client management experience.
- Experience as a project manager and technical lead on remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action oversight.
- Experience delivering remedial projects within the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation framework.
- Strong understanding of remediation system design, cost estimating, construction, and OM&M.
- Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, etc.
