Your Impact:
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll work closely with clinic leadership, staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, person-centered services that help individuals build independence and reach their full potential. This includes:

Conducting thorough evaluations and developing individualized therapy plans

Leading and supervising the implementation of therapeutic interventions

Collaborating with other clinicians to create coordinated, holistic care plans

Tracking progress, refining treatment strategies, and ensuring compliance with OPWDD and agency standards

Providing clinical guidance to C.O.T.A.s and mentoring students-in-training
-
Advising on and monitoring the use of adaptive equipment to enhance individual functioning

Contributing to ongoing quality assurance and internal review processes
A Day in Your Role:
-
Partner with the Clinic Administrator and Medical Director to guide the occupational therapy program

Supervise and support C.O.T.A.s and interns in treatment planning and delivery
-
Maintain an active caseload, tracking progress and outcomes for each service recipient
-
Serve on the Clinic Treatment Team, bringing your voice and expertise to collaborative case discussions
-
Conduct chart reviews and internal audits to ensure excellence in care
-
Attend interdisciplinary meetings and mandatory in-service training
Qualifications
You Are:
-
A licensed Occupational Therapist with a heart for service and a mind for detail
-
Collaborative, adaptable, and committed to ethical, person-first care
-
A strong communicator with excellent documentation and planning skills
-
Passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of therapists
-
Comfortable navigating both in-person and remote responsibilities during emergencies as an Essential Employee under New York State designation

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This is an active, hands-on role that requires bending, lifting, stretching, and direct interaction with service recipients. You must be able to:

Navigate some workspaces that may include stairs

Use close and distance vision and adjust focus appropriately
