The Department of Computer Science in the College of Science and Mathematics at California State University, Fresno seeks applicants for a tenure-track, academic-year position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in Academic Year 2026-2027, with preference given to candidates specializing in Cloud/Cluster/Distributed Computing, Algorithms and Theory of Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science Education, and Artificial Intelligence. Competitive candidates in the areas not listed in the job post may be considered, depending on the department’s needs and priorities. Successful applicants will be expected to teach a variety of core courses in Computer Science as well as electives and graduate courses in their area(s) of expertise, be active in scholarly and applied research involving students, and engage in university and community service.

Qualifications:
Required Education (from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent):
- An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from an accredited (or equivalent) institution; or
- Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; however, the doctorate must be completed by the time of appointment
Required Experience:
- Successful teaching experience (including teaching assistantships) at the college level;
- Demonstrated success with research and scholarly activities, including recent peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals and/or conference proceedings; and
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students. The University is committed to promoting the success of all. Candidates who can contribute to all students’ success are encouraged to apply and identify their strengths and experiences in this area
Preferred Experience:
- Successful teaching experience at the graduate level;
- Experience with grant writing and administration; and/or
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaborations.
