VERSES wishes to engage a Research Engineer with amazing skills in documentation and creative writing to join an exciting new group working at the cutting edge of AI research.

Specifically, your work will contribute to our company's vision to construct a globally coherent intelligent system designed around a structured data representation that emerges from the interaction of multiple independent intelligences operating on unstructured or heterogeneous data sources. Our guiding hypothesis is that this achievement would require developing a lingua intelligentia, and that the right theoretical framework under which to develop this is probabilistic inference.

Thus you will be a Research Engineer with a passion for documentation writing engineering specs and guidelines of the Active Inference approach to AI.

We are looking for a candidate with a track record of innovative research who also has experience in technical thinking and writing.

You will join a team of talented researchers & engineers who work collaboratively with developers, system engineers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use.

Role

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the business and the documentation requirements
• Author engineering specifications, applications & guidelines documentation.
• Provide executive summaries of research findings and product development to leadership, journalists, investors, partners, etc.
• Author blog posts, opinion pieces, essays, and thought leadership on topical current events and trends.
• Provide quality assurance and ensure technical accuracy/clarity of copy used in product marketing, website, decks, press releases, and other written materials.
• Review, comment, analyze, and repurpose source materials including research, patents, white papers, presentations, illustrations, and reference examples
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Create and maintain the information and distributed computing architecture
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable international standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
• Secondary function: Construct Active Inference implementations at scale and publish white papers

Great to Have

• Degree or equivalent years of work experience
• Demonstrated track record of publishing on Active Inference
• Background in law and legal writing
• Experience with International standards writing
• Experience using GitHub for document development
• Experience at the cutting edge of machine learning research
• Have knowledge of implementing AI systems at scales
• Use of GitHub for document development.
• Proven working experience in technical writing of system and software documentation
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Excellent written skills in English
